Youth Voice Against HIV/AIDS

Service-learning's strength is in the power of youth voice. One group of high school students realized they could be extremely effective in educating about HIV and AIDS if they created a working partnership between infected and uninfected students.

With guidance from professionals, the group developed basic scripts, and practiced skills for public speaking and responding to audience questions. Then, they went into the community to address their peers. They also developed a handout and website with facts, figures, myths, and truths about the disease.
