Universal Peace Wheel Celebration

State:
Nevada
United States

The Universal Peace Wheel is a cultural art form of kindness for all humanity.

There are many people who live in a world constantly surrounded by news of unrest, strife, hatred, and jealousy. The Universal Peace Wheel is away to acknowledge the imperfections of this world while empowering us as individuals to participate in a project aimed at countering this negativity, regardless of our means.  The Wheel is a cultural art form located in Elko Peace Park, a public park located in Elko, Nevada USA.

A handcrafted copper embossed cylindrical art form adapted from Tibetan Buddhist culture.  Each time a visitor turns the wheel billions of wishes go out into the world.  This wheel is unique as it features 36 universal peace symbols from different cultures that include international designs, along with traditional Tibetan art and Sanskrit letters.

We have collected 1000 handwritten peace statements from local students and residents that will be placed inside the wheel, along with 1-billion traditional mantras, and 10,000 handwritten statements we hope to collect from you (submit your statement here). When visitors turn the peace wheel, billions of wishes for peace and healing go out into the world.

Anyone who sees this peace wheel, uses this peace wheel, remembers this peace wheel will be liberated from suffering and the causes of suffering.  They will have happiness and the causes of happiness.  Together we will come to understand equanimity for all.

Supported and Recognized by The National Endowments for the Arts, Nevada Department of Cultural Affairs, and the Nevada Arts Council.
