Service-Learning and Reform in the Philadelphia Public Schools

Brief outline of efforts by one school district to integrate multiple opportunities for service-learning for all students throughout their education. Implications of the service-learning requirements include increased professional development needs, sustained school/community partnerships, and the development of an evaluation and assessment system to measure student achievement and youth development.
