Advanced Practitioners: Earn a Certificate of Excellent Practice in K-12 Service-Learning from NYLC and three graduate credits from Viterbo University.

NYLC has developed the Certificate of Excellent Practice to promote a consistently high level of practice with the goal of producing the best results for young people. Using criteria developed by a national panel of service-learning experts, the NYLC evaluation board offers certification of practitioners whose work meets the established criteria for high-quality service-learning.

To earn your Certificate of Excellent Practice in Service-Learning:

  1. Become a member of the Generator School Network. Please note that GSN membership is free. Go to gsn.nylc.org to become a member.
  2. Complete the pre-application, which will be used to determine whether your experience is appropriate for this program. Email mvankeulen@nylc.org or fax to (651) 631-2955.
  3. Upon acceptance, you will be provided with instructions to register with Viterbo University.
  4. Complete three one-credit graduate classes:
                        Implementing the Service-Learning Cycle
                        Conducting a Self-Assessment
                        Service-Learning Curriculum Integration
