What are the issues and opportunities that educators and students face in urban areas?

This two-day event focuses on applying the principles of service-learning in urban environments. Join us as we bring together community voices to discuss service-learning outreach and application techniques that help students achieve academic excellence and become strong community leaders. This event is also a remarkable opportunity to connect with other professionals working in urban settings and help shape this developing area of service-learning.

Registration

  • Early-Bird Registration $245 (Registration and payment postmarked by July 3, 2007)
  • Regular Registration $275 (Registration and payment postmarked by July 25, 2007)
  • Single-Day Registration $150 (Registration and payment postmarked by July 25, 2007)
  • Onsite Registration $325 (full institute) $200 (single day)

Registration includes all sessions, training materials, four meals, shuttle service between the hotel and the Institute, and a reception. Sessions take place at the McGregor Memorial Conference Center, 495 Ferry Mall, Wayne State University, Detroit. Programming is scheduled from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m on August 2 and 3. For those arriving on August 1, there will be an Opening Reception at 6:00 p.m. at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center.

A special hotel rate of $100 per night is available until July 6. Please contact the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center at (313) 568- 8000 to make your reservation. Ask for the "National Youth Leadership Council Urban Institute" rate.
