Support the National Youth Leadership Training through the Pepsi Refresh Project

Inspired by their experience at the National Youth Leadership Training, which empowers youth to take the initiative on closing the achievement gap in their home schools, NYLC’s Youth Advisory Council members have applied for a $25,000 Pepsi Refresh Project grant.

Every year at NYLT, youth from an estimated twenty-five schools from around the U.S. convene and work with their adult mentor to create a year-long service-learning action plan that addresses the achievement gap in their home community. This $25,000 would provide each school group with $1,000 to implement their plans, provide more support, and incentive for these youth to utilize the skills they gained at NYLT.

Each month the Pepsi Refresh Project grants to up to fifteen individuals who submit projects related to the arts and music, education, communities, or a response to the “Pepsi challenge question” of the month. Anyone can go online or text to vote up to five times each day for different projects. Supporters and voters are also encouraged to join discussions and leave comments on project pages.
