NYLC Welcomes Henry Lozano on its Board of Directors

In August 2010, NYLC welcomed Henry Lozano as a new member on its Board of Directors.

Henry is the Executive Director for the Shinnyo-en Foundation. The mission of the Foundation is to bring forth deeper compassion among humankind, to promote greater harmony and to nurture future generations toward building caring communities. He is dedicated to advancing the Foundation’s Six Billion Paths to Peace Initiative working closely with schools and youth community service and volunteer campaigns extending around the world through its international partnerships.

On September 11, 2007 Henry was appointed by President George W. Bush as the Deputy Assistant to the President and the Director of the USA Freedom Corps. As Director, Henry advanced the President’s “Call to Service” initiative launched at the 2002 State of the Union. Prior to Henry’s tenure as Director of the USA Freedom Corps., Henry was appointed by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the U.S. Senate to serve on the Corporation for National & Community Service Board of Directors from 2003-2007.
