NYLC Submits CNCS Board Nominations
In partnership with Service-Learning United, NYLC is spearheading efforts to ensure that a full board of directors for the Corporation for National and Community Service includes those with service-learning expertise. Currently, six of the 15 positions are open.
The following individuals have been nominated:
- Delaine Eastin, former California State Superintendent of Public Instruction, CA
- Andrew Furco, Associate Vice President of Public Engagement, University of Minnesota, MN
- Reverend Matt Heyd, Episcopal priest and director of Faith in Action Ministries, Trinity Church, New York City, NY
- David Hornbeck, former Maryland State Superintendent of Public Instruction and former superintendent of Philadelphia Public Schools
- Harumitsu Inouye, Chief Executive Officer, Shinnyo-En Foundation, CA
- Kathy Havens Payne, Senior Director of Education Leadership, State Farm® Insurance Companies Foundation, IL
- Judith Ramaley, President, Winona State University, MN
- Jim Shiebel, former Mayor of Saint Paul, MN

CNCS board members are appointed by the president with the advice and consent of the Senate.
