New Development and Outreach Staff at NYLC
Jennifer Dotson joins NYLC as development director, providing leadership in building partnerships to sustain NYLC programs. Most recently at Alive Magazine, a nonprofit organization that creates opportunities for young women to discover their voice and realize their full potential, Dotson brings to NYLC experience in strategic planning, fundraising, marketing, communications, and nonprofit management. A believer in the power and importance of young people’s voices, she says that she loves nothing more than “giving young people that opportunity to speak up, to serve, to lead.” On her time so far at NYLC, Dotson says, “It is refreshing to work for an organization that shares similar ideals and has such a talent for unleashing the true potential of youth, in their schools, their families, and in their communities.”

Sam Schultz joins NYLC as the AmeriCorps*VISTA development and outreach assistant. A year of service and service-learning was a natural fit for Schultz, who has known many former VISTAs and who has a service-learning, sociology, and business background. An integral part of the development effort, Schultz says he looks forward to connecting with “individuals and organizations working to promote positive, sustainable change in the Twin Cities area and beyond.”
