Car crashes are the biggest killer of teens today, and Project Ignition is out to change that. Schools across the nation, in partnership with NYLC and State Farm®, are taking a stand to raise awareness about this problem that affects every community. Project Ignition is a school-based teen driver safety program that provides up to $2,000 in support for efforts to address the problem.
To get ideas from current Project Ignition sites across the country, check out the following stories demonstrating how schools tackle teen driver safety within their curriculum:
- Students in Ohio Change School Culture
- Teens Tackle Safe Driving in Arkansas
- Impacting How Students Drive and Learn in Washington
- Rural Arizona Road Tragedies Mobilize High School
Use these examples to inspire your own action and tell us your story on Facebook or Twitter with the hashtag #NTDSW. Are you conducting seatbelt checks in the school parking lot? Have you partnered with the local police or SADD chapter? Are you teaching younger students about the dangers of distracted driving?
Teen driver safety affects us all; let’s do something about it!
