Generator School Network Launches
The wind is up; the turbine is installed; and the blades are turning on service-learning’s first generator — the Generator School Network. Designed to magnify the impact of what works in service-learning through a dynamic community of service-learning practitioners, the GSN is the first Facebook-like network for the movement.
Now is your opportunity to experience the “mechanical advantage” of practitioners learning from one another. Join the network to share your epiphanies with colleagues, grapple with the toughest issues, use a rubric to assess your own practice, or access self-paced tutorials on the evidence-based standards. Whether a beginning teacher or a seasoned practitioner, you’ll find these and many more resources at your fingertips through the GSN.
School teams can register now, submit commitment forms, fill out online profiles, and start to reap the benefits of membership. Read peer-posted projects from other teachers across a variety of disciplines and grade levels, then post your own projects. Explore the service-learning cycle sequentially, or focus in on a step that is most challenging.
