Youth Engagement Zone service-learning training

As part of a Youth Engagement Zone project, NYLC is providing service-learning professional development to teachers at the Fond du Lac Ojibwe School.  The "Connecting Through Service" project engages high school students at risk of dropping out. The program embeds service-learning into core academic curricula, integrates entrepreneurial skills and tribal culture with service-learning projects, and establishes a youth leadership group. Partners include University of Minnesota-Institute of Community Integration, Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College, and the National Youth Leadership Council.
