Voices for National Service Capitol Hill Day

Thursday, September 15, 2011 (All day)

NYLC CEO Kelita Bak will be attending this event to advocate for national service and service-learning as the federal FY2012 budget is shaped. NYLC staff who aren’t in DC are supporting the campaign by making calls to Congressional offices and encouraging those in NYLC’s networks to voice their support too.

The Capitol Hill Day is an annual event that unites hundreds of national service alumni, program staff, service partners, and corporate sponsors for a coordinated day of meetings with their elected officials.  This is an important opportunity to inform congressional leaders about the essential, low cost, high yield services national service members and programs provide – and must continue to provide – in helping our nation overcome and recover from these challenging economic times.

Make the call to your senators and representatives today, Sept. 15, to save service-learning and national service. Click here for more details how to take action.
