SPPS Community Education Service-Learning Training

Sponsored by Saint Paul Public Schools Community Education and the National Youth Leadership Council, this training will explore techniques for assessing community needs, help participants improve the quality of their practice, and instruct on how to adopt service-learning as a teaching strategy. Participants will also learn how to use the Generator School Network [gsn.nylc.org] and learn about Minneapolis Public Schools after-school service-learning programs; ShineOn, HYPE,  and Everyday Leaders. Trainers include Jim Toole, President & CEO Compass Institute and Senior Fellow at U of M College of Education & Human Development, and Lana Peterson, NYLC professional development manager, school initiatives lead.
