International Association for National Youth Service 9th Global Conference
The IANYS 9th Global Conference on National Youth Service will be hosted at the Bibliotheca Alexandria in partnership with the John D. Gerhart Center for Philanthropy and Civic Engagement at The American University in Cairo. NYLC Founder, President, and CEO Jim Kielsmeier is a longtime supporter of IANYS and serves on the IANYS Global Council.
IANYS is dedicated to the idea that young people can make peaceful contributions to community through service and civic engagement, benefiting from programs structured like the military. The goal of IANYS is to stimulate and facilitate the exchange of information about national youth service, offer technical assistance to governments or private institutions that seek to develop or reshape such programs, and encourage youth to play an active role in their communities. The 9th Global Conference will include strong youth participation and a focus on in-school connections between learning and service.
This is an opportunity for youth development professionals to share information with other policy-makers, practitioners, and researchers, nurture connections for developing future projects, and discuss the impact of service in the context of youth employability and youth service policy. Participants will include youth civic engagement professionals from across the Middle East/North Africa region and from around the world.
Registration for the conference is open, and further information, including the preliminary conference agenda and conference fees, is available on the IANYS website. Presentation proposals are accepted through June 11.
