NYLC, in partnership with the liberal arts college Viterbo University, is offering two online graduate classes for educators during the 2010-11 school year. The courses are offered through the online community of the Generator School Network. Membership in this community of service-learning practitioners is free. more »

International Association for National Youth Service 9th Global Conference
The IANYS 9th Global Conference on National Youth Service will be hosted at the Bibliotheca Alexandria in partnership with the John D. Gerhart Center for Philanthropy and Civic Engagement at The American University in Cairo. With only eight weeks left to complete Project Ignition grant applications due November 15, NYLC is offering two webinars designed to strengthen proposals:

Join one of our upcoming webinars and we’ll give you all the help you need — core goals for teen driver safety, examples of such youth-led service-learning efforts, the research-base, and judging priorities. We’ll also help you navigate the Project Ignition website.

Service-Learning Curriculum Integration
This summer NYLC, in partnership with the liberal arts college Viterbo University, is offering a series of online professional development classes. The courses are one graduate credit each and are offered through the Generator School Network (gsn.nylc.org). Membership in this community of service-learning practitioners is free.
In this course, participants will engage in a practical application of the service-learning process through an examination of sample projects — paying particular attention to curriculum integration. more »

Project Ignition Applications
Applications for $2,000 grants are available Aug. 16-Nov. 15, 2010 online for high school students and adults interested in addressing teen driver safety through service-learning initiatives. State Farm® and the National Youth Leadership Council® are proud to continue their collaboration on Project Ignition in this seventh year.
