About the position
This position provides assistance in a variety of ways, including conducting donor prospect research, writing and editing of grant proposals, invitations, and other materials, creating presentations, and organizing and maintaining development systems for the organization.
Essential Functions:
- Copyedit, proofread, and revise grant proposals and letters of inquiry;
- Conduct donor prospect research including corporate, community, and private foundations;
- Track funding opportunities and deadlines;
- Merge libraries of digital and hard copy historical records;
- Assist with planning and execution of fundraising events;
- Other administrative office tasks as assigned.
Work Knowledge and Experience:
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Ability to work independently and to seek consultation when needed
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Power Point, and Word
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
Time Commitment: 3-6 months, Spring or Summer 2013. Flexible schedule within office hours of 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Mon-Fri. 10-12 hours per week.
Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. Parking is free.
